How we got here.

Block Real Estate Group started in 2019 as Stukkie Real Estate. It was Gerrit's one-broker shop, and it existed because the way other agents in Washtenaw were selling wasn't the way he wanted to. Too much lived inside the agent's head and made it to the seller. Too many transactions came in details no one bothered to write down. There was a better way to do this, and he wanted to build it.

In 2021, Stukkie Real became Block Real Estate Group. The new name is more than branding. We became Michigan's crypto-certified, started using Propy for offer and transaction management, and committed to recording every deed on the blockchain as a second layer of protection. The name Block is a nod to the blocks where we sell and the the blockchain where we record them.

What we built.

Three principles guide every transaction at Block Real Estate Group.

No information held back. Every offer arrives in our sellers' inbox at the same moment it arrives in ours. Every document is accessible to every party in the deal. Every status update is shared as it happens, not when someone asks.

Every decision explained. Why this list price, not another. Why this offer, not the other. Why this timing, not next month. We walk through the reasoning behind every recommendation before our sellers decide.

Every transaction permanently recorded. Beyond the traditional title and county recording, every closing is logged to the blockchain as a tamper-proof receipt. Wire fraud and deed fraud are real problems in real estate. We treat them like real problems.

The team

Block Real Estate Group was founded in 2019 by Gerrit and Tara Stukkie. Gerrit is the broker-owner who runs the firm. Tara is the cofounder and transaction coordinator, and she runs the operational side of every sale we close.

The firm has since grown to include more agents, each running their own practice with their own focus and clients.
